Windows Mobile
Any mobile phone based on Windows Mobile 6 or above can be used to make and receive calls via an internet connection. Enclosed is the list of the supported models http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/devices/devices.mspx The variety of modules are vast, the most popular, is the HTC family.
Please note, our softphones works with both Smartphones and PDAs.
Installation:
- The softphone can be downloaded from here. The dialer can be downloaded directly from the browser on the mobile phone or it can be download initially onto the PC and thereafter, using ActiveSync, copied onto the phone.
- Alternatively, one can log onto the Portal, send an SMS to the mobile phone number of the phone, thereafter via the link the softphone can be downloaded. After receiving the SMS the phone will start installing the softphone automatically.
Connectivity:
- The softphone can connect to the Internet using either the Wifi, GPRS, EDGE or UMTS.
- The user has the option to select the preferred method of connection when starting the application.

- Making and receiving SIP calls
- The Softphone has the facility to make and receive SIP calls from behind VoIP blockades/firewalls in any reason.
- The Native address book from the mobile phone is fully integrated to work with the vippie mobile. The User can select a contact from the address book and make a call.
- The softphone has a Redial button, enabling the facility to redial the number with the click of a button.
- Real time call data records are recorded and can be viewed.
- Last calls are logged on the softphone.
- There is a summary window showing the last call cost and duration.
- There is a facility to check the rate function. This permits the user to check the rate of the entered phone number before making a call.
